A little further away for this walk, but well worth it. Packed with history and interest.
We started at Sharpness Docks and made our way to the Sharpness & Gloucester Canal, passing where the old railway lines brought in goods to be transported on. Then making our way to the marina, which joins the River Servern and the Canal.
We then walked along the Canal, towards Gloucester, passing the site of The Old Severn Railway Bridge. Then on past The Purton Ships Graveyard and from there to Hinton where we then started walking footpaths across fields to our pub lunch at The Lammastide Inn at Brookend.
After an excellent meal we made our way back to the cars at Sharpness Docks. It worked out at just under a very enjoyable 7 miles.
