A morning mercifully without rain saw a group of eight gather at the promenade bandstand for a short walk.

After reaching the Salthouse Fields and St Andrew’s Church via the gentle slopes of the southern section of Poets' Walk the group followed Old Church Road back to the Salthouse Fields.

David Long and Bob Hardcastle gave the group the benefit of their local knowledge on the way.

It was agreed the morning called simply for a return along the promenade and welcome refreshment outside Scarletts cafe on the corner of Alexandra Road.
