Lacock

We went further afield this time to the lovely village of Lacock to enjoy a walk or, for some, a shopping opportunity!

Some walked three miles around the village, including 4 stiles, while others explored local paths and clocked up over 5 miles.

We saw a ford, beautiful cottages, squeaky gates and even a herd of elephants. The countryside was looking very green and fresh.

After exercise we deserved our lunch of either sandwiches or an excellent meal at a local pub. We agreed that the chips were probably as good as any eaten before!

Finally we explored the village, seen in many period dramas and the Harry Potter films. There is an interesting museum looking at the development of Victorian photography by Henry Fox Talbot who lived in the abbey in the 19th century.

A good day out for the 11 footpath members on the trip.
