Seven of us walked 3.75 miles around the Blaise Castle Estate with occasional showery weather.
We started off by walking to Blaise Hamlet where there are 9 individual grande 1 listed dwellings that were designed in 1809 for Blaise Estate workers of pensionable age.
Then through woodland and fields we walked into Blaise Estate where we had a coffee break, the river Trym flows through the estate.
We then proceeded up to the interesting Gothic sham castle built in 1766 and restored in 1954 with lovely views.
Then we walked down the pathways which some were very precarious, went into butchers cave and on to Tarn Pool fed by the river Trim, which used to be used as a swimming pool.
We carried on to the water mill and up fields and a tunnel which lead to Henbury Church built in 1093 and refurbished 1878.
We then had lunch in the Henbury Arms.
