Rain was forecast but the day turned out fine and the Gorge and Downs looked lovely in the Winter sun.

The walk of about 4 miles circled through Clifton village from the University to the suspension bridge museum.

After a brief visit to the museum we walked on to the Water Tower cafe at the far end of the Downs, by way of the Avenue, where excellent refreshments were enjoyed by all 11 walkers. Indeed, some of us had our first mince pie of the season before returning to Clevedon by bus.
