We caught the pleasant, but rather humid, weather between the showers for this walk through the lovely Gordano Valley.
The views were spectacular and a lot of interest was provided by the 13thC St Michael’s Church and close-by Clapton Court house.
Wild life in the reserve seemed to be in short supply but we were ‘adopted’ by some horses and made a detour round some cattle, including a rather large bull.
The terrain was varied, including some slopes, flat walking and woodland. It was a surprise for most to see how near we came to the motorway and how pleasant it was when we moved down the hill away from the noise!
Having had our coffee break in the nature ‘hide’ we later had an excellent lunch in the Black Horse. Then it rained!
The 9 walkers present declared how lucky we had been and what a splendid walk we had enjoyed.
