Ten Footpath Group members who walked mid-morning to Lower Strode Road soon found difficulties. Having reached the intended start the lack of good signposts meant that it was difficult to proceed beyond.
On retracing steps to supposedly better known paths (as described in the Ten Clevedon Walks booklet) progress was again soon thwarted. The path was blocked by a field of corn (maize).
The result was thus a considerable disappointment, especially as previous walks in the same area had encountered much improvement. North Somerset Council would need to be told. The survey walk had served its purpose.
Otherwise the walk was not without its pleasures. There was a good haul of blackberries on the way and those of the Group that made it to the Crab Apple Inn enjoyed a good lunch.
