We were hoping for a pleasant walk through Leigh Woods, strolling along the Avon Gorge with views of the suspension bridge. However the incessant rain meant it was too dangerous to attempt the steep descent to the gorge so we walked the red and purple trails which, although muddy, were flat and well marked.
In spite of the rain the walkers described the experience as ‘lovely walk’, ‘enjoyable’, ‘invigorating’, and an ‘interesting mystery tour’ and an amazing 15 people completed the walk.
Jenny informed us that the wife of Lu Ban in China invented the umbrella, for which we are truly thankful. We also thank the Failand Inn for their good food where we were able to dry out and enjoy the company of so many people.
